Approaching our first autumn-winter season with the tunnels enables us to think and plan ahead. It’s easy to think that this new season only means winter veg like turnip, kale, cabbage and the like. However, perhaps we can whet your appetite with winter salads that bring some freshness and goodness to your dinner table this season.

It has been time to start making many sowings of lettuce and a range of interesting herbs and radishes for winter. What is encouraging is that some have already started sprouting and this week not only have we made more sowings, but it has been fun planting them out in the tunnels.

Watch out each week ahead for a closer look at what is happening in the tunnels here at Westerton and getting to know more about the life of our veg on it’s way to our farm shop, Farm To Table, and your plate!
